One week! Then it really is Christmas. Here in Sweden Christmas isn't the only big day in December we also have Lucia. Now I love Lucia, even though I can´t sing and never been one, but I love it non the less. So this year I thought the only way I will have a "luciatåg" is if I'll make one...

 I´m so happy with how this page turned out and I'm seriously thinking of putting it on display in my craft space!  I think it´s so fun being able to include the ribbons and tinsel, they really pop on this background, painted craft. 

 I few snowflakes to add some winter sparkle. 

 I used my poor old typewriter to do my journaling and the title is the first part of my favorite Lucia song. Mixing silver and gold just feel so right in Christmas times. I added a bit of red, from the photo, just so that the white, silver and blue wouldn't be to cold. 

I really like this and I hope that it might give you some inspiration to scrap your Lucia photos!

It´s finally Friday! I have the second layout made from this weeks kit. I fall head over heal in love with the two papers from Basic Grey "Wisteria" and for this layout I had to make them the focal point. 

 I love the cool colors of the white, blue, purple and black. The black I think is a very important part to bring contrast to the page, so that it not just flat. The black quote card is from "Good Times" value pack and the frame is something I made and I had to add a heart brad.

 The title is made with tiny wood letters from Studio Calico together with a wood heart. This page is build in a grid and to bring balance I wanted something soft and what better then a ity-bity doily?

 I wanted quiet allot of journaling but didn´t want to add anything more. So I journaled on the photo, that has allot of white space.

 As a finishing touch a added ink drops and teal sequins. The teal adds some warmth and also some glossy accents dots just for the fun of it.

Today I have a layout made with the same kit as I used for project life yesterday. I wanted it to be very light and allot of "white space". I started with a white cardstock that I had painted with left over gold paint (I hate wasting paint)

 I love how the colors work together with the sequins, it just pops. The title I did with black and then cut it out with tiny and sharp scissors.

With the sequins I paired white tiny pearls give the layout that light touch of magic.

 The one thing I would change is the journaling, I think I would rather have it next to the photo. That would make it a bit more "together"

It´s Tuesday and I´m about to show you my week 40! For this week I made a kit for project life and two layouts. I started with two papers from Basic Grey "wisteria"  after that I took some cards from the "Good Times" value pack from Becky Higgins. So this was my base and then I picked different  bits and pieces.

For this week I decided to make a full spread for two reasons; I had so many photos that I wanted to incorporate and I wanted to use as much as I could from the kit...

 This page design is from Simple Stories- Sn@p and I love that you get vertical and horizontal photos and the long 12x2. That strip of course you can embellish and use the space more then I did but I just wanted that amazing paper! So on this page it´s very bare, a title card and a few nature photos. The 4x6 filler card I just painted with black ink "The sky is awake" witch is a quote from from Frozen.

 On the right side I have more I have more journaling. The October card is lilac water-color and black ink. My favorite photo is the one on the far right of Fridolf. I love the light and he fact that he looks normal... I hardly ever get a photo of him, let alone one where he looks good. I also decided to to take a screen-shot of my phone. I see this everyday but in five years I most certainly will have forgot what apps I used everyday.

 I did went with a simple title card, witch I don´t normally pick. I tend to go with the cards where I can journal but sens I did a double spread I picked this cute one. Half a doily and the ticket is from the "Notes & Things" from Crate paper. So simple and the gold helps to bring the left and right sides together,

 On this design you have two 3x4 card and I picked two from Instagram, one is of our Cinnamon-buns and one is from Wilna Fursenburg. The 4 of October is the Cinnamon-buns day in Sweden and of course that has to be celebrated and the other is just "hey, I´m in the art & design class"

 The "October" is painted on watercolor paper and the cut out old school- pint & cut...
I also worked on have the heart brads on the page and I really like them.

 I love this 3x4 from the "Notes & Things" that looks like a tiny book cover. And what better then a dymo label?

Happy Friday everyone and welcome to Project Wilna part 2!
I´m so glad you stopped bye and well, let´s get started!


So we start with checking out Wilna´s page:

This layout is build up in three parts: Photo, embellishment & journaling.
The colors are one of my favorite compo; grey and yellow. The embellishment is ribbon and scrap-pieces with brads/ buttons in changing colors, black to coral to yellow.  Here is her process video check it out to see our different processes.

What I will take with me is the layout and the thought with it. I will challenge my self with the colors. I have a hard time making red work so that is the color I picked to go with black and grey.


Here is me take in the layout:

Black & White with Red.  Black and white is not hard to work with, but red is. So bringing out the red lipstick in the photo with red dymo, red embellishments and red splatter.

 The background is from Basic Grey and I love it! I have been "saving" it but it´s perfect for this page, with all the flying  shippes. The squares are from My Mind´s Eye: Ruby and goes from black to red to white. Over the journaling I dropped some red mist I mixed ages ago.

 Wilna had matted her photo on a vellum pecie with gold dots. Now, I don´t have any vellum let alone any with dots so I made my own. The paper is what you have when you bake so it´s hard for anything to stick to the surfaces. But Ranger gold paint sure does stick, so I made dots with the old dried dabber.

 I love how the "vellum" turned out but I couldn´t get it to stick...(yes I know how blond that sounds...) so I finally went with staples and cut out the center to stick down the photo.

 I just love how this turned out with the colors and the layout. I would never have done a layout like this if I hadn´t started this project. My favorite part is the gold and the ribbon. I haven´t used ribbon in ages, but maybe I give it a try, this way.

I´m so happy over this page and I hope you give it a try.

Hello!
Just as I was finished with the kit I saw a scrap piece of a Basic Grey paper and just had to make a final ting with it! So I made a birthday card.   Check out the video here!

The image is a Crissy Armsrtong stamp I colored a while back with distress markers.

A really simple card to make but so cute! I just love how the colors work together and that carrot really pops!

Here is number 4 and last layout out of my scrap kit. It all about little puppy Penny.

This layout is really simple and the focus is on the photo and the bling. The bling in this is some brads that I digged out of my little misc-box in white, pink and light green.

I like the light feel of this layout, with the light colors and then a black and white photo (edited in the Rhonna Design App). The background is from Basic Grey and has the right pink and light green.

 The title is stamped and to get it a bit more grounded I added a light green arrow. Without it the title would just have been floating there without anything really pulling it to the page.

 The hanging thing is a fishing thing... with a heart and some cute brads. The card that is stamped with the date is from the Maggie Holmes core kit and fit perfect. So glad that I checked the back side!

 Putting the brads in clusters helps to draw the eye and pulls the colors together. I didn´t think that I liked pink and green together but I have proved myself wrong...

I´m back with a new layout using my august-scrap-kit! This layout was inspired by a spread in a magazine, the pastel colors with the black

The kit was put together with a vintage and shabby chic feel in mind but picking put some colors and going with a white cardstock can change everything!

So light yellow, blue and pink with black accents. I used a stamp from the optimist stamp collection from Prima to stamp a border around the edge. The paper-layers are put around the photo in like a T-shape to help draw the eye.

I used the same blue glitter-letters from the previous layout together with my dymo and black letter. The resins are from a mod pogde  resin mold, painted with white paint and distress ink.

 I just couldn´t stay away from the black lace washi-tape but it just works with everything!

Hello boy and girls!
I´m back! It feels like I have been gone forever but here I am!                          New Video!

So to start of August I have decided to try something new to use up my scraps: making a kit! Just going through my stuff pulling it out and making my own kit. It was so much fun!

So in this kit I pulled mostly brown, blue and pinks. I have allot of vintage feel papers and paired with blue and pink I think it can be really cute. The 12x12 papers are, from the right, Basic Grey (x3) Maja Design, Prima, Magnolia (x2) Basic Grey, Scraps Maja Design & Basic Grey. The pink one is a watercolor piece.

In the "Fun Box" I put a 6x6 My Minds Eye Blush pad, Prima stamps, pearls and bling, book-pages, letters and washi tape (not in the photo). I do think that I will add more things to my projects as I go on. But I see this kit as a starting of point and not being shy to cut in to the papers or finishing a sheet of pearls.





Here is my first layout: This kit was perfect for this photo, brown, blue and pink. I took one of the 12x12 Basic Grey papers and the rest is from the 6x6 pad. I love how the colors turned out and when you look at the layout you can feel the autumn the is in the photo.

 Allot of layers doesn´t have to mean allot of papers, adding washi-tape is a great way to add layer without using papers. One "rule" that I tend to follow is mixing layers, neutrals with patterns.

 In the end I really like this layout, not only the design aspect but because it´s about my mother and something the is hers. It was some time ago sens I did a layout with a proper title and journaling but I think I might do more...

Happy Monday! Today I have a new layout to show you that I really like!

I used allot of scraps from Graphic 45 and some new papers from Prima- Time Traveler but the background is Basic Grey.

 This lady I have saved for year and finely I cut her out and put her on a layout, and I´m so happy that I did that. And sense I´m so in love with here I gave her some Prima-bling on here skirt.

 More Prima-bling with cut outs from Prima and Graphic 45 with some washitape.

 The title: "Blue eyed girl" in Panduro letters and of course my true love: Dymo.

This layout has allot of layers but isn´t very dimensional. I tryed out some new things; Cuting out the photo, working on a smaller area and not using flower! The last one was hard but I found the Rose-paper in the Time traveler pad!
