How many of us have one or more of these "adult coloring books"? How often do you sit down to color in them? I don't. Now there is so many to choose from but I find that many of them have such tiny spaces that coloring them is not relaxing, it just gives me a headache... On my birthday I got two and I was like... "really?!" But I'm determined to use them, in one way or another! 

So one night I sat down with one of them books got out a few pages and colored. Distress markers, water colors and mists. I had a plan; backgrounds!

This one just went perfectly with these photos from my prom three years ago and I decided to make  a "pretty" layout. 

 I picked all of my favorit embellishments and just had so much fun. This page will (hopefully) be apart of other ages about my time at gymnasiet. My plan is to make "pretty" layout and then have the story typed on the other side. That is the plan anyway. 

 So what I wanted to share was the idea of using odd materials (like wall paper) or papers that we might not think of to use in our scrapbooks. For me, using the coloring-books, will hopefully give them a purpurs instead of gathering dust on my bookshelf. 

The book I have used here is "Vintage Patterns" by Karrusel Forlag colored with distress markers i "milled lavender", "seedless preserves" & "cracked pistachio"

Hello!
Just as I was finished with the kit I saw a scrap piece of a Basic Grey paper and just had to make a final ting with it! So I made a birthday card.   Check out the video here!

The image is a Crissy Armsrtong stamp I colored a while back with distress markers.

A really simple card to make but so cute! I just love how the colors work together and that carrot really pops!

So like I said before I made two things with this lovely stamp and now I want to show you the card:

So to me she looks a little like a statue with flowers growing on her. So I colored her only with "pumice stone" distress marker and stamped in grey a crackle stamp on here. The flowers are colored with "mustard seed", "picked raspberry" , "spun sugar" & "ripe persimmon"

 The sentiment on the card is "I will Statyr to you" like "I will stay true to you" (Statyr is Swedish for statue)

I really like this card with the fun colors and Joy looking so cool

Hello all lovely people!

Today I have 2 pieces to show you! The first one is a art-journal page and the other is a card. Kristinas scrapbooking is selling out the Bloom-Girl stamps and sens I was going to pick up a few new distress marker I saw my chance to get my hands on one of them! I pick Joy, she is just so beautiful!

So in normal order I just had to play with her and my new markers ("seedless perserves", "ripe persimmon", "squeezed lemonade" & "mustard seed") So I thought I would show you what I did!

So starting with the art-journal page:
I wanted a really fun page with allot of colors and a water color feel

 Skin & hair: "tea dye" & "walnut stain". Eyes: "peacock feathers" Flowers: "ripe persimmon" Berries: "seedless preserves" Leafs: "peeled paint" In the centers of the flower I painted with gold

 The background is distress markers, white paint, gold paint and chunky embossing powder.

 On all of the berries and the purple heart, I went over them with a glittery nailpolish.

 The title is partly hand written and partly is from Rhonna design

A new week and a new video! This video (HERE) is about something that we sometimes struggle with; "What do I do now?!" especially when I do mixed media! So I let the camera roll to show you that sometimes it does work out. Sometimes you have to try out different mediums to find what it is that you are looking for.

The other day I found some long lost Prima stamps of two chandeliers. Sense they had been gone for so long I just wanted to stamp them to see how they would work, so I took some scrap-craft paper and stamped... And just like that I had begun a patterned: one up, one down in lines. And you can´t tell that is is chandeliers at the fist glance, just a really cool graphic patterned!





So naturally I wanted to use my new amazing paper and decided to make a card, sens it´s been so long. So with two papers from My Mind´s Eye- Portobello Road, a doily, some washi-tape and Lindy´s stamp gang- Moon shadow ink in "Smoky Sapphire" I got started!

 All of the pearls and stones are from Magnolias; "Knick Knackery´s. I love how they look on this simple card and mixed together.

 The butterflies are stamps from Prima and Panduro and are embossed with Magnolia´s Black- fine embossing powder. They are stamped on the same paper as the mat to the chandelier- paper and the Magnolia label. This brings in the black, witch add some contrast, and the dark teal color that is so pretty!

 The roses, the patterned paper and details on Tilda is painted with "Smoky Sapphire" it´s such a pretty ink there is taupe and when light hits it: it´s the most amazing light-blue lilac. Tilda her self is colored with distress marker in "Pumice stone".

It´s finally here! Midsummer´s Eve. Here in Sweden it´s a big deal and it´s party all day long with strawberry cake and dancing. And of course the mandatory flower-reef on our heads. This I know can sound odd, but here in Sweden it´s really a celebration to the sun (it´s the longest day and it´s only dark a few hours today!) And sense we here in the north don´t have that many sun-hours we celebrate it! Allot of flowers and singing... It also almost always rain  on this day witch is kind of ironic...

So for all of you how aren´t in Sweden here is a little piece from me to you so you to can feel the midsummer feeling

Hello! Today I have a simple summer card to show you. It´s a bit more embellished but it´s really easy. The papers are from "My Minds Eye", and the background is embossed with ranger gold. Then the image are mated on a patterned paper and some off-white cardstock.

 All of the flowers are sprayed with Lindy´s stamp gang- "Cotton Candy Pink"

 Tilda is just colored with "Pumice Stone" and the hearts are "Spun Sugar" with glossy accent.

Hello guess what day it is.. It´s a Make-It-Easy-Day!! and of course I have I card to show you. This card I made for my friend´s 20th birthday and as you might guess, she loves dogs. The stamp is from whimsy stamp and is called "Puppy Love" and I colored the puppy with my distress markers. The card base is black textured cardstock, all of the papers are mated on it. The papers are prima "introspection" 6x6 pad. When working with a pad it´s very easy to put a card, like this, together because you know all of the papers go together.

So here are the 3 things about this card:
1. papers that goes together
2. black cardstock that ties it all together
3. a super cute stamp colored with a colored that comes again in the paper (in this case; "picked raspberry")

Another thing I did was when mating the stamp, make it in to a Polaroid. So I could wright a message in a white gel pen.

Today I have both a card and a NEW Video! to show you! I posted a video the other day of when I Colored this stamp  so then I wanted to make a card with it. The stamp is a WEE stamp from Whimsy and I used distress markers to color it (what a surprise!) The papers are from My Minds Eye- Madison Avenue

 Flowers, book flowers, pearls, buttons and a pin

 I used "Dove craft"- candy flos on the cheery flowers and "vintage photo" on the book page roses

On Sunday it´s mothers-day here in Sweden and of coarse every mother wants a card. So I thought that I would make a easy one that you can use yourself. The papers that I used where scrap from the Prima class and a ATC card.
So here is the formula:
1. 6*12 (card base)
1. 5*5 patterned paper
1. ATC
1. Mini doily
1. Image, dosen´t have to be a stamp
1. border/ ribbon
liquid pearl- gold

Layer the papers, doily, border/ ribbon and then the image/ photo/ text. The go around the paper & ATC with the liquid gold, making small dots.

The sea shore paper where perfect for this card not just because my mom loves the ocean but she really likes this magnolia stamp (witch is perfect for this collection!!) Her tail is colored with distress markers "Peacock Feathers" and then I went over it with Lindy´s stamp gang "Tibetan Poppy Teal" for some glimmer.

A quick and easy card for even you want a simple card, don´t have time or to someone that is not in to lace and roses ;)

God day to you all! Today the sun is out and my nose is running! How is it that when it´s finally nice weather, you get sick?! But on the other hand I don´t feel as bad staying in. So yesterday I started playing with the "Time traveler" collection from Prima. If you see my last video you know that I love the papers but I thought they where a bit dark for me.

And it was here I thought that I have to change my attitude... Insted of seeing the papers as "too dark" and hard to work with, I now see it as a challenge and trying out a new style.

 The dark theme comes again in the coloring. First I colored the way that I uselessly do and then I went over with "Black soot" to add contrast. I have to say that I love this darker type and I will keep playing with this technique. Stamp: "Wild Rose- Bella with friend" colors: Distressink & markers

I just love this moments when I get inspired by yourself and dare to try out new things. So I can tell you that I have allot coming up now that is not "me". But I just want to say thank you for reading my blog and watching my youtube, it mean so much to me, thank you!

So today there is no scrapbooking or card-making but a piece that is inspired by Ken Follett "World Without End" I love that movie-series. And if you have watched "The Pillars of the Earth" & "World Without End" you know that faith is a big part of their world. My faith does not look like theirs but the thing is that the characters have such strong belief.

In "World Without End" the nuns play a big part and I got really inspired by them. Today I see nuns as a women with strong belief and a selfless heart. I love how he makes the past feel so close and sharp. But  it was different in the middle ages, that the convent was not only a house of God but a sanctuary and a prison at the same time. One women could see it as freedom and another being captive. The dress that they are wearing represent both sides. One of the main character is "Caris" joins the convent to save her own life, if she leaves she will be hanged. So in her chase it´s freedom in the sens that she is still alive and a prison in the sens that she can´t leave...

In the middle ages I do believe that this was not that unusually that young women ended up in a convent ageist their will, especially during the witch hunt... Then their was women that just wanted to help the fellow man kind and be married to God. Of different reasons they all ended up there together.

 And seeing a women in this dress you can´t tell where she comes from, what she thinks or where she is going.

 So here is my nun and I let you decided where she has been and where she is going.

Tilda is colored with distress markers, her dress is "Stormy sky", just love that color.

The weather has gone back to the way it usually is... rainy. So sense it has been raining I thought I would take Britta inside so she could dry off and get nice and warm... No! She is so mad and every-time I get near her she stamps and lets me know; She does not want to be inside! So I guess she will go back to live outside... crazy bunny.
This ties is so well with today´s card witch has the theme: "Friendship"

 This time I just inked the edges of my white flowers with "vintage photo". And to keep on the gold track I took some magnolia gold pistils, metal leaf and some feathers. Well the feathers I took just because.

Happy Thursday to you!
Today´s card and Video is made with my newest paperpas: MME, Lost & Found ROSY 6*6. The papers are so pretty and there are both neutrals and allot of colors. The stamp is from Wee stamps (Bird swing) and is colored with distress markers; "weathered wood" & "Victorian velvet".

Roses are "spiced marmalade" (ink) and perfect pearl "Kiwi" and the leafs are a cut up metal flower.

 The oval metal is also cut up and both metal pieces are from Pyhobby. I just love the bookpage that is the index page hens the roman number.
