I don´t scrapbook Christmas. I don´t scrapbook Halloween, Valentines or Birthdays. 

I have never given it much thought  and never felt an urge to do it. Of course I have this moments in my Project Life but now I start to shift and think I want to have more event pages. And really, I want Christmas pages. So here is a page with a photo from last year:

I picked this photo of Wiola and I and made it b&w. These Pink Paislee papers where on my desk (sens I cut them in to 6x8 for my DD) and I just loved how they looked together. So I put them down like I had them on my desk and stitched around.

 I love sprinkling mist over b&w photos, and here, with the white, it looks magical! 

 Not allot of embellishments here, a Lawn Fawn flair, a felt tree and bling & pearls.

 The "Merry Christmas" is a clear 4x6 card from Heidi Swapp- Project Life pack that I added the title on top of.

 My journaling is on this tag tucked under the photo. I really like the lace and twine, it really adds texture. 

After having made this layout, making Christmas pages doesn´t feel so intimidating any more.

I love looking through magazines, they are so pretty and inspiring, and for this layout I wanted to try to use an advertising I ripped out. 

The add is a full page and was found in a garden magazine. I just love it and after having thought about how to add it, I sat down and turned on the camera... hoping for the best. 

The add-page had a black background with what looked to be a sketched garden scene. In the signs was info about the event, I covered them whit the photo and tiny word sticker.

So I started whit colors, pink and gold. I had this painted craft in pink, perfect for a background. I got out my trusty sewing-machine to sew down the page and the gold-dotted vellum. Really liking how the white thread frames the dark!

 There is not allot of embellishments but I added a glittered tag and some leafy-thingis Magnolia die cuts, to play whit the garden scene. Sens the I wanted the background to be the "star" I used a black& white photo, so I didn´t have to have competing colors.

 I used a Amy Tangerin craft word for my title, again so not to over power. I think a black title would have been to much. The craft word works whit the background and stand out just enough whit the glossy-accent.  

 What is the last thing you do? Splatter some gold Heidi-Shine of course! I love doing this over black & white photos, it looks so magical!!

Following a sketch is, for me. so hard! The story behind this layout is that I started whit it late one night, stopped to be able to record the process to day after. So I took a photo of the layout to glue it all down later... Oh good grief,  my head was like, "but put it here", "try it here" "why not some paint?!" I had to keep remind myself that the work is DONE! just glue it down...

The day after, in daylight, I started whit some blue mist for the background, and the mat it on craft. Here it´so clear how hard my brain had whit this, did I trim the background? No! I always to this, but I just couldn´t think straight...

 But my brain did think; " I LOVE a pink tassel!

 ...and copper-glitter leafs. I love those!"

 After having added the journaling my thought process started to come back and I finished it whit some gold "Heidi Shine"

In the end I´m so happy whit how it turned out and I´m so glad I didn´t change it.

This layout was quite a let down... I had a plan, and then went out of my comforter-zone... Crashed and burned! But hey I live to tell about it.

What went wrong? Well looking at it now I see a lot of B&W indifferent patterns and to bright colors. The is one of my favorite photos and it doesn´t pop, to much muchness around.

 I wanted to much here, different patterns, lots of &&& and then bright colors that honestly... hurts my eyes. Whit a B&W you can go wild whit colors but here I have added to much Black &White pattern. This was the photo doesn´t stand ageist the background but blends in and the mess is a fact. 

 The pop of color is this pink rose, pretty but whitout any other pink it falls flat and looks out of place.

 So this layout didn´t turn out the way I had plan but I learned and moving on. I will continue making mistakes and ugly layout but hey I live to tell about them...

Do you you save your scraps? Where do you keep them?

In a drawer or sort them by color... I used to have a desk drawer for scraps but found that while it got fuller I didn´t look in it. Now I store my scraps on the paper-pad it came from. It works for me sens I keep looking in them and I tend to by my paper in pads rather then by sheet. How ever I do keep a tin next to my desk for tiny pieces and it from that tin today´s layout came from. 

I know some find it hard to work whit scraps and scraps from different lines and brands. This layout came together thanks to some papers ended up next to each other while I was looking through my tin. "Thous looks cute together!"

I really like to work whit b&w photos because then you can pick what ever color you want and you can pick more and bolder color sens it want clash whit the photo.

This flowers I painted, scanned and printed. 

Love how the watercolor look works whit the patterned paper.

I really like the fun feel this layout has, just as Majken and Kerstin in the photo. This is the last "DIY" layout. The last couple of weeks I have been focused on making my own embellishments, painting more and using more from my stash. Now I feel more creative and like to use my own things. I hope you have liked this, the layouts and videos. Hopefully you have found some ideas and felt inspired. 

My next project is almost done, just a few more layout to film, and then I 

will be working whit a kit from my stash. I hope you will stop by to check it out!

So the other day I was looking through my email trashcan for a email, but found that I subscribe to Simple Stories and in one of their emails was a link to some really cute printables. I hardly ever print that kind of stuff because my printer and I don´t get along, but for that dog I just had to!!

I went whit A4 and a stong pink background matted on a diagonal B&W from Maggie Holmes "Confetti". The elements from the printable are so cute, I printed page 6 and used all but 2 elements! and  between you and me, I would love a hole sheet of the dog and the flower circle! 

 I mean, look at that dog! so cute. I really enjoyed working on this layout, using cute things that are perfect for "life"

 I printed on a laser paper 250g witch takes the color better and feel more... real then regular copy-paper.

 Where do you sleep?- Var sover du?

 The elements that I had left I saved for my project life week 34. And they worked prefect for PL as well! In my PL I put in cute photos of my dogs, my baking and painting and also what I read and listen too. (Miss Fisher and Persuasion)

 As well as the printed stuff I used Simple Stories "Sn@p" labels in pink

 A little cluster on the bottom of the week card of label, printed doughnut, punched heart and pink glitter letters from Heidi Swapp

 Don´t forget, I obsessed about this girl!

In short, I love this printable and even though it´s intended for their "Life Documented" planner it works beautifully on both scrapbook layouts and Project Life pages!

As you may have noticed I now post two videos a week, one in the week ends and one on Wednesday, and today it´s Wednesday! On this layout I worked whit my DIY theme, trying to use things I have done, altered or just work a bit harder on the layout.

On this one I took inspiration from this layout, I have it hanging next to my desk to inspire me...

here I wanted black and white

 this is YOU, that is the title for this page of Wiola. This photo is so...her, Waving her paw and always wanting to be close. I didn´t journal on this page, just a title and two quotes from Tim Holtz "small talk" . I didn´t want to add to much text, letting the title be a strong focus, just as Wiola is a strong personalty.

 At first I just wanted the page to be black and white but I had to add this blue tassels and some gold. But I love that I did and the gold is so bold together whit this colors and that "YOU" is a focus, just like she is. It was so fun working whit this colors and they make a big impact in the album!

 The background is white and then a painted craft A4 whit white and paynes. I love this color combo and so happy that I use it... as I don´t uselly do...It´s so easy to make this things, not so easy to find a place for them. But now I have made two so this was a winner!

 "if you´re lucky enough to be different, never change"

 Love black and white one black and white! And the Maggie Holmes embellishments work so well together even though they are from different collection, it´s all about the colors!

Hello all of you pretty people! I´m so exited to have a new little project, by now you might now that I get really exited by having "projects"! I´m not so good to stick to them for a longer time but hey, that okej :) Anyway my new project or mission is to put more me on the page, like working more on the background or to use the embellishments I have made...

Here is the first layout and what I really wanted was a woods feel without it turning in to a theme. So I gessoed a 12*12 watercolor paper and then sprayed whit different colors over 3 threes from Tattered Angel.

 I then used the masks to make this threes and them watercolor them. I really like how they turned out but it I was to do it agien, I would do the threes on a heavier paper so that the color really comes out.

 The title is Heidi Swapp puffy stickers in Navy that I just stiched over when I sewed around the page.

 The wood hearts works so well with the wood feel and I just had to have some ink splatter, black and gold.

 The layout is about that Wiola and I have been together for a year! It feels like yesterday I hold her when she was just a few minutest old! She has grown to such an amazing dog and I couldn´t love her any!

As per usual I have a process video up today and on this one I mixed Confetti by Maggie Holmes and Craft Market by Crate Paper

This two collections go so well together and made a really fun layout.

 The title "Love You" is part from Craft Market chipboard and part thickers "sentiment" 

 I can´t turn down gold ether foil or glitter so I did both here. 

 "you are my happy"

 I had to use this blue squirrel on a LO whit Wiola. If you have seen the movie "Up" you know what I´m talking about... Squirrel!

Project Cheval, my attempt to do a 12*12 album just about how much I miss my old ponny. Well here is another layout. The album is actually coming together it´s just my lack of inspiration and love for my blog that hinders you from seeing it... How ever I´m here today to share the layout Hello and the process video for it

On this layout I started with a sand colored cardstock and some white paint through a Heidi Swapp stencil. I wanted a calm page but with allot of pattern, sound very logical right. 

 But by only having the pattern as a mat to this photo i work, well that and the fact that this photo is very calm and hardly as any colors. So that the papers and the photo doesn´t competes whit each other. The papers I used are from a Dear Lizzy 6*6 pad "Polka Dot Party"

There is not allot of embellishments on this page, just a few chipboard pieces from Crate Paper "Craft Market" and some word stickers from Maggie Holmes Confetti. 

 I really like how this page came together even though I can see some thing I would like to have done differently, like the price-ribbon... But on the hole I like it and now I want to get more sand colored cardstock!
