When I got my stuff from Sirap i Paris I couldn't wait to start playing with them. I posted a layout I did using the "Cool Kid" sticker so now I knew I wanted to use the Maggie Holmes "Gather" stickers! If you ever just going to get one thing from a line, I would suggest the stickers. You get allot for you money and they last a long time! (Well not for me but that is another story...)
On this page I started with the background sticking down old label stickers from Sn@p and the 3 layers of white paint (my gesso was in my studio and I was just lazy...) I then dug out my distress inks in "Tattered Rose" and "Spun Suger" and speared them on. The last thing I did was adding a chunky embossing powder ("Aged Gold" by Stampendous) in the grooves of the labels.
The colors was inspired by this frame from the "Hello Love" by Crate Paper and yes, I have been hording it. How ever I think this is the perfect place for it, on a page about my favorite Aunt. I have a hard time scrap'n about events and peoples but it is something I'm working on.
I wrote about how much she means to me and why. How I can always count on her and that I look up to her and hope that some of her adventurousness rubs of on me.
I am so happy with how the background turned out, it was such long time ago I played with mixed media and I didn't reseal just how much I had missed it!
The texture, the colors (that blue!!) and the amazing Super Snorpan makes this layout to my favorite from September!

Today I have a layout made from the scraps from the mini album I shared last week.
I have gotten so much inspiration from Hello Jillsky on youtube to start scrapbooking my family's older photos. This photo is of my grandmother at 10 ears old. I don't know if I will make more pages or how to make them but I really like how this one turned out.
I cut the scraps into 2x2" and then cut them on the diagonal. I used a tiny bit of tape to add them to the page before stitching them down like a quilt. This page is for my grandmother and she is very crafty, sawing, pottery and baking so I wanted something to fit her; quilt background.
I will add some information to the tags later when I have it. I really like the end result and I'm hopping to do more o these pages with older photos.
Do you have a place for yous scraps. Do you look there often or do you, like me, just put scraps there but hardly go through it? Is there stuff on your desk that you think "I'll use that next time..." but never use it. I'm so good at shuffling papers and moving thing to the other side.
I have now really made an effort to use my pretty things and to look into my scraps!
This page was made with a pile of scraps that just happened to end up in the same pile. I think it's really fun to go through and find unexpected colors and pattern combinations.
Do you read allot of scrapbook blogs? I don´t, I have a few favorites (and lots of you-tube ones) this I check a few times a week and always feel inspired! On of those blogs are Maggie Holmes blog and the other day Kim posted this layout:
I love this page, the design, the colors and the "messy-ness" of it. I just had to scrapbook after seeing this one and jumped in to my scrap-tin.
I picked my scraps and placed them in some sort of color order, cold to warm but without thinking to much of it. Blue to yellow to pink, but I wanted to yellow to be a bit more. The title and flowers are Maggie Holmes "Open Book" and work so well whit the other yellows on the page.
But my favorite part of this is the stitching, I love the subtle effect it gives and the it sort of pushes all of the patterns a step back. It took time, I won´t lie, but it was so worth it!
After I had stopped filming I felt that the background needed something more. (this is the danger whit leaving your layouts on your desk, they will never be "just right") Anyway, I decided to add some watercolor-look by the "packaging-technique" and distress ink in "pumic stone" and some teal spray.
In the end I love how it turned out and will definitely to this technique again so thank you Kim!!

Yes it´s the open book stuff! The more I use it the more I love it, and the less I have... So for this layout I only used 1 full 12*12 sheet and the rest is scraps.
The only real embellishments on this page are the flowers, made from scraps. Want to know how? Here are the blog post
A tried and true technique for me is stenciling and then water color over. I use the cheapest color i can find for two reasons, 1 its cheap. 2 the pigments are different so you get that chalk texture.
Hello! Here is number 4 and last layout out of my scrap kit. It all about little puppy Penny.
This layout is really simple and the focus is on the photo and the bling. The bling in this is some brads that I digged out of my little misc-box in white, pink and light green.
I like the light feel of this layout, with the light colors and then a black and white photo (edited in the Rhonna Design App). The background is from Basic Grey and has the right pink and light green.
The title is stamped and to get it a bit more grounded I added a light green arrow. Without it the title would just have been floating there without anything really pulling it to the page.
The hanging thing is a fishing thing... with a heart and some cute brads. The card that is stamped with the date is from the Maggie Holmes core kit and fit perfect. So glad that I checked the back side!
Putting the brads in clusters helps to draw the eye and pulls the colors together. I didn´t think that I liked pink and green together but I have proved myself wrong...

Hello! Today I have 3 layouts to show you! Witch means that my Barock album is finished! (Part 1 is here) I used allot from my August-scrap-kit . I´m so happy to have it done and now when ever I miss him terribly I can just open that album.
The first layout here is not made with the kit, the 8x8 paper is pieced together with tiny strips from My Minds Eye- Flea Market 6x6 pad. The layout is rather simple with the focus on the photo. Using black helps to frame the focus and creates contrast that I felt this layout really needed with the soft colors and doily. I wanted the all of the layout to go together without looking to matchy. So working with layers and keep bringing black in really does the trick.
I really like this layout with the colors and the blue bling, it really stands out in the album. And just to add some demotion makes a big differences!
This layout is really 2 but I made them to be 1. I started with this pink/purplish paper from Magnolia, spacing it equally in the two 8x8 pages. I then added layers from the august-scrap-kit.
All of the chipboard is from Prima- SeaShore and I think the colors works so good together. The journaling I did is around the layout so it looks like a old phone-wire type. Bye the way, I love this photo of him, it really show how amazing he was! and big! he was 173 cm and I´m only 168cm.
All of the photos on this layout I printed at home on a plain cardstock and that is why they look so muted. But I don´t think that is a big deal, If I had decided to have them printed I would have had to wait for a long time (we usually order big badges) but now the album is done!
The last layout is called "Massage" and the photo is of Barock getting massage when he was really sick. He loved this so I wanted to make sure I got that in the album. Here to I have layering going on and of course the black lace washi-tape. I also used the blue glitter letter from my kit.
I really hope you liked this layouts and this little mini series about Barock. Now I have only 1 more layout left to show you from what I made with my august-scrap-kit and then I have something new on the works that I think you´ll really love!

Hello everyone! *Here is the video!* I´m back with another layout made from my august-scrap-kit. I´m going to be really honest with you now: I love Prima stuff but this paper I really, really don´t like! I like the idea if it, mixed media-ish with doily and ink splatters, but it just looks like a hot mess (so those the other papers in this collection too) And now you think: But if you don´t like it why do you have it, and use it?. Well I got the paper in one of those "mystery bags" and I´m going to use it because I love a challenge!
So I started with my photo (the photo is not that good, dark and bleary so it looks like he only has three legs, oh my) Then I took out scraps from the kit and that was laying around, started to add layers. Now like I said before I´m not crazy over the mixed media feel because I think it looks like a mess but I decided to embrace it!
Adding black to contrast and interest one of my favorite "tools", no matter how bad it is, adding black works 9 out of 10 times. Like the stamp, so easy to build a pattered! (from Prima, Optimist collection)
I just though to mention something that I do really like sens I was a bit negative in the beginning. And that is this stamp set. I got it to a good prize and it so versatile, I´ve used it on all of the layouts and I know I will continue to use it allot in the future. Stamps really are investments.
In my video I shoe you how you can make this super simple mixed media look with just washi-tape and some stamps. I know there is allot of people that are a bit afraid of the hole mixed media and if you are, starting with just a border with washi-tape and some stamps might be perfect for you...
Now when I look at this layout I don´t hate it, but nether do I love it. I think it´s a really good layout where I really had to think about it and solve a problem. Would I do the this layout the same way if I got the same paper and photo? I think not, but I enjoyed making it and in the end I had a good time. I said before that I don´t make layouts in first hand to remember a moment. I scrapbook because I love the mix of paper, paint and photos, if I then later have albums filled with memories that is a amazing bonus.

I´m back with a new layout using my august-scrap-kit! This layout was inspired by a spread in a magazine, the pastel colors with the black
The kit was put together with a vintage and shabby chic feel in mind but picking put some colors and going with a white cardstock can change everything!
So light yellow, blue and pink with black accents. I used a stamp from the optimist stamp collection from Prima to stamp a border around the edge. The paper-layers are put around the photo in like a T-shape to help draw the eye.
I used the same blue glitter-letters from the previous layout together with my dymo and black letter. The resins are from a mod pogde resin mold, painted with white paint and distress ink.
I just couldn´t stay away from the black lace washi-tape but it just works with everything!

Hello boy and girls! I´m back! It feels like I have been gone forever but here I am! New Video!
So to start of August I have decided to try something new to use up my scraps: making a kit! Just going through my stuff pulling it out and making my own kit. It was so much fun!
So in this kit I pulled mostly brown, blue and pinks. I have allot of vintage feel papers and paired with blue and pink I think it can be really cute. The 12x12 papers are, from the right, Basic Grey (x3) Maja Design, Prima, Magnolia (x2) Basic Grey, Scraps Maja Design & Basic Grey. The pink one is a watercolor piece.
In the "Fun Box" I put a 6x6 My Minds Eye Blush pad, Prima stamps, pearls and bling, book-pages, letters and washi tape (not in the photo). I do think that I will add more things to my projects as I go on. But I see this kit as a starting of point and not being shy to cut in to the papers or finishing a sheet of pearls.
Here is my first layout: This kit was perfect for this photo, brown, blue and pink. I took one of the 12x12 Basic Grey papers and the rest is from the 6x6 pad. I love how the colors turned out and when you look at the layout you can feel the autumn the is in the photo.
Allot of layers doesn´t have to mean allot of papers, adding washi-tape is a great way to add layer without using papers. One "rule" that I tend to follow is mixing layers, neutrals with patterns.
In the end I really like this layout, not only the design aspect but because it´s about my mother and something the is hers. It was some time ago sens I did a layout with a proper title and journaling but I think I might do more...

So the other day I was looking trough my desk draws and happened to find an old 8*8 album about my late horse, Barock. It only had 3 layouts and I thought that it would be fun to finish it. Now I haven´t worked on a 8*8 sens I started on this album and that was years ago, so that was the first challenge. And the second I think is rather obvious... Starting on an album about someone that you loved so much and now have past away is really hard, especially when this album is already started on. Bu now I really wanted to finish it and I think that no matter how hard I try I will never be 100% happy with is. So I just told myself that I was just going to play with the photos that I had and anything will be better then nothing. So I packed up my little blue basket, added a 8*8 pad and 2 6*6 pad took my camera and went out side.
This layout you see me starting on in the video but my camera cuts it of. So this photo already had a layout that I decided to take apart. I like this one better with the black and the colors I used on the other layouts.
This one I went with a more green feel with some orange.
This is the layout that I started on, it´s my favorite photo of him and I wanted it really clean so just a white background and a blue paper that I made with distress markers. The juornaling tag is from Primas "Sea shore" 3*4 and I just stuck it under so the boat is hidden.
Using that same paper and embellishments makes it so easy to create different layout that tie together. Here is that 8*8 paper as base (I have know idea what the pad is called but it´s very pink, green and blue) than a 4*6 atc from prima "sea shore", doily and that black lace washi-tape. Simple layout where the atc card also work as the title.
This layout the camera cut out too... But same though, 8*8 as base, doily and black. That {create memories} is from a prima packaging. and the camera from rhonna design app.
So I have 5 more layout to make and I have put some photos in my "photos to print" folder. But so far I really like it, just going to add the journaling but I think I will wait for that till I have the other layouts. I´m glad that I found this and that I have started to work on it.
